There is a clear difference between the terms ‘free’ market and ‘fair’ market. There used to be a time in the USA where neighbors helped neighbors. They helped them build their houses, tend their fields and buy from the local store. It was a ‘free’ market and a ‘fair’ market. People could not effectively travel greater distances to get a ‘better’ deal on products and services. Now, because of a shrinking globe, we have access to ‘better deals’ all over the world. We can buy exotic products and services that more effectively compete against our locally generated products and services. The result of this ‘free’ market system has caused the demise of our ‘fair’ market.
Mom and Pop stores have gone out of business due to competition from Walmart. In fact, several of Walmart’s clothing product lines were discontinued because, even though they were made better, they cost more money. Now, wouldn’t you pay a little more to get two years of life out of a piece of clothing that you would have to buy twice and pay more for in the same two year period? It would be common sense, wouldn’t it? Common sense is NOT so common anymore. Our educational system keeps cranking out students with NO common sense and none of the life skills necessary to discern the lies of those who ship our jobs overseas in the quest of maintaining a public version of the ‘free’ market. The reality is much different from the spin.
As a result, the ‘fair’ market has suffered. People in their own countries have had to rely on subsistence to survive. People who have had previously relied on themselves for their own support have supported those who are drowning them in lies and rhetoric to increase their bottom line. When will they wake up to the fact that they have been taken advantage of and have been lied to? Only when the perpetrators have been discovered for what they truly are; vipers out for blood and not out for fairness.
Discernment is a process of examining the facts and making an evaluation based on those facts that are beneficial to ALL concerned. It comes from a spirit of fairness and NOT ego. Ego only cares about self and what can benefit self. Cut through the veil of deception being perpetrated by self-righteous, self-centered individuals who absolutely don’t care about the well-being of you and your family. See them for what they truly are; just as Jesus saw EXACTLY what the Pharisees were; vipers! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
DESIRE
If only most of Buddha's followers were to look at what the Pali actually says. 'i' is the small self; the ego. 'want' is earthly 'desire', not Divine desire. Desire means 'of the Father'. It is the seed that drives our being. As with the Bible, many take what it says literally without knowing its idioms or correct translations.
Know who wrote it, who translated it, what it actually refers to, where it occurred, how it was delivered, when it was spoken and why it was taken to heart. Only then, can one actually understand the truth that was intended by the one who spoke it.
If you believe what it says based on your own relativism, then you are not deriving the entire truth from what has been said. As with anything, the deeper you dig, the tougher and wetter the dirt becomes. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
ARE YOU WISE?

I mention this statement because it reveals the truth about being wise. Just as Jesus said, "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. TWICE A DAY
Spend time twice a day in deep meditation and listen to the still small voice of God guiding and directing you to what you need to do, when you need to do it and with whom you need to do it with in order to grow and expand into an allowance of Divine order unfolding your Divine purpose.
In the inner silence speaks to voice of God and you will know how and when to proceed. You are a child of the Most High God and the guidance you need it just a breath away. We can only point the way, but the Spirit of God within can and will bathe you with health, wealth, prosperity and abundance.
You can use guided meditations, musical meditations or 'sleeping' meditations, but ultimately, conscious relaxation and feeling the presence of God within through experiencing stillness and silence gets you 'in touch' with the true reality. Peace and blessings. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
JUSTIFYING SURVIVAL
Ego uses racial and social excuses to justify its own survival.
The inner heart is sublimated by ego in order to control, dominate or manipulate a situation to ensure 'what it perceives' as what it needs to do to survive.

What you don't understand you will judge. When you seek to understand you will discern the truth beyond all measure.

VIPERS IN THE PIT
When you allow others to do your thinking for you it shows just how mediocre you are. Those who are afraid to think, feel, believe, speak, act and behave in a way that edifies us all are only out for themselves. They will tell you that they care about you when in fact they don’t. They will do everything they can to ‘appear’ like you when in fact they aren’t.
They are vipers in a pit waiting for you to stick your hand in and bite you. Just as in the story of Adam and Eve, don’t listen to the snakes and vipers who try to convince you that what God has told you is right, is wrong. When you lower yourself to their level is when they will bite you. Stay above the chaos and rhetoric of the vipers, liars and backbiters who preach freedom, less government and lower taxes while our bridges and roads crumble underneath our vehicles.
We are in this together and we need to start acting responsibly and taking care of our own. How can we help others when our home is falling apart? The correct thing to do in an airline emergency is to grab the oxygen mask first, in order to be alert enough to help others. Be smart, efficient and wise. Some have asked, “How do I discover my Divine purpose?” “What is it I must do to find out what I should do to be happy and fulfilled?” “I encounter one challenge after another and I still don’t know what I should do with my life.” Discovering your Divine purpose does not always come with a perception of a ‘light shining from the heavens’. Many people think they must ‘do’ something or ‘earn’ something in order to ‘find’ their Divine purpose. They encounter events, occurrences situations, circumstances and people that ‘challenge’ their current state and yet, they still don’t make the steps to ‘see’ exactly what their Divine purpose is here on Earth.
By the blessings of the Divine we are given the gifts of free will, love and grace. That is the starting point of our equanimity. From there, we encounter ‘life’ and our choices will determine our path through life. If we choose to see ‘beyond’ what we sense, we become more and more aware of the undercurrents in our ‘existence’. If we don’t, we can relent to the ‘appearance’ of the external perceived dualistic reality and become eternal ‘victims’ to its perceived control.
When we choose to align ourselves with Divine order we come to know that natural order is ‘moved’ and ‘controlled’ by Divine order. We come to know that in giving what we feel we need, we are pro-actively contributing to the edification of all. It is in this giving that we are fulfilling our Divine purpose perfectly. As we open our hearts to participate in the joy of others, our minds become filled with the awareness of our own Divine purpose. These ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ moments activate our emotions with the determination to share what is ‘good’ in our lives with all. Our innermost Divine desires will be released with an emotional charge to serve the world with our talents and abilities.
In the act of giving what we desire the most, we become One with our Divine purpose and we open the door for even more blessings to flow through. We start with grace and fulfill with giving. In the act of serving we master the alignment with Divine order. When we make the goals, dreams and aspirations of others a priority in our lives the Divine makes ours a priority because we stop focusing on our ‘perceived’ problems and share Divine love with all creation. Step out into your community and ‘give’ what you have dreamed to receive and the avalanche of the Divine’s blessings will safely carry you to the realization of complete fulfillment. ~Dean A. SPIRITUAL VACUUM
What you ingest physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually you become. Eating from the death of animate life affects your physical chemistry in a way that you begin to experience its fear during its physical death. Absorbing the emotional frenzy and chaos of unstable individuals affects your emotional well-being in a way that you begin to experience their mental mindset.
Holding onto thoughts that don’t serve your Divine purpose create a spiritual vacuum in your being that leads to mediocrity and apathy. Denying your spiritual reality leads to a fear of your physical death as being the end of your existence completely. When you eat from the soil of the earth you absorb its nutrients that balance your physical chemistry. When you feel the joy of living you experience the peace, love and understanding of the Divine.
When you think the thoughts that contribute to your growth and expansion you are serving your Divine purpose. When you make the time for communion with the Divine every day you allow the guidance from the Creator to unfold your Divine purpose in Divine order. Practice every day the impression of love into your being and the expression of love to all of life.
Be the Divine creation you were created to be and not a by-product of what you eat, reactively feel, passively think and spiritually deny. Be whole and pure and your life will reflect that state each and every day. Peace. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
WHO AM I?
Who am I? I am a recalcitrant iconoclast. In a non-controlling rejective manner, I attack belief systems, traditions and institutions for being based on errors, mistranslations, superstitions and erroneous beliefs. I seek to tear down erroneous images and beliefs by revealing the truth of the Spirit of God within all of us.
I meditate twice a day to immerse myself in the peace of the Divine where ALL knowledge exists. I receive ideas and concepts and write them down. I do my research at the library or on the Internet and I collate historical information from at least three corroborative sources before I make my statements. Yet, time after time, some, who have NOT done the research, have insisted that I haven’t done the research.
To all of those who choose to emotionally react instead of proactively think I wish you the best. Until you learn to discern the FACTS before you form an opinion or belief, you will never get close to the truth. The truth exists in a place of verifiable facts and information not conjecture and opinion, whether scientifically or religiously based.
Immerse yourself in the silence and stillness of the Divine and clear a channel between your conclusions, suppositions and opinions and the truth. In reality, the truth WILL set you free! I don’t claim to have THE way to awareness or universal understanding; just ‘a’ way. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL
All of you are beautiful. You are the most prized creation of the Most High. You come from the infinite spirit and you return to it with each and every breath. You have the gifts of awareness, grace, free will and love. You were created in an abundant omniverse and are destined to prosper with health and wealth. You are loved more than you might realize, yet some of you choose to deny it.
Claim your beauty by loving the Divine. “How do I do that”, you might ask? By fulfilling your Divine purpose in Divine order each and every day of your life. Be whom and what the Divine created you to be. Use the seeds of Divine desire that are planted in your heart to share your individual skills, talents and abilities in service to others. You will be blessed by feeling joy, living in peace and understanding your part in the grand scheme of things.

In old Jerusalem, the ‘eye of the needle’ was an archway close to the ground where the camels had to come down on all fours to have their baggage removed for inspection before the traveler entered the city. The traveler could not enter the ‘filtering’ gate until it was known what they had in their possession. Much like a metal detector does in our time. The only way the camel gets through the ‘eye of the needle’ is for its owner to remove the baggage for inspection.
It is much the same when politicians scream about tax cuts for the rich so that they can provide jobs. They want to pass the camel of lies and manipulation through to our cities by walking through the main gate WITHOUT inspection of their baggage! Cutting taxes for the repair of our infrastructure in favor of putting tax dollars toward wars and infrastructure in OTHER countries is ludicrous at best.
Examine the facts before you even attempt to put the camel through and it will have less of a chance at spitting at you once it is in your home because you will know its true purpose and behavior. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
Do you feel that your efforts to relay the truth as you have known it to be are in vain? Do you feel that no matter how much you do it is falling on deaf ears or blind eyes? Fret not, for there is peace in understanding the gifts of knowledge that you have received. In the attempt to impart the truth to others you are doing your part to bring truth to the world; and in that, you are blessed with Divine knowingness. It is a knowingness that is based on the growth and expansion of all amid the ignorance of others.
We all come to understand the truth when it is time for us. Until then, we operate on what we perceive as the truth in hopes of aligning ourselves with it in order to unfold our individual perception of our Divine purpose. Challenges arise and help us to hone our perceptions until we realize our part in the grand scheme of things. Remember, if others’ behaviors are reactive, debilitating and resistive, they are in fact, running away from the truth in order to justify their ego’s need to be in control of its self-survival; nothing more, nothing less.
Peace to all of you on your journey from your individual perceptions to the unveiling of the complete truth. It can be a bumpy ride sometimes, but in the end you will be blessed with complete awareness. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

PROJECTING
The world inside you projects into the world around you.
Not everything you experience is a result of your own shadows being seen in others that are coming from an attitude based on fear of survival; instead, they are circumstances to lead you to complete faith and trust in the Divine. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
ON THE ROPES
What does it mean when you have someone ‘on the ropes’? It is an idiom that means to be very close to defeat or failure. How can you tell when you have someone on the ropes? In a debate each side presents their argument and each side dissects what has been said based on the merits, pertinence and factual content. When you put the other side in a defensive position and they fail to respond, get frustrated, respond with cursing and/or slander of the character of the opponent, then you, in effect, have them ‘on the ropes’. The loser of the debate is the one who cannot justify their position and has to result to distractions, such as misinformation, presenting opinions as fact and manufacturing outright lies to convince the opposition and moderator of their veracity.
Such is not the case for the side who has the facts, has acceptance of the facts by many others and presents them in such a way as to have people THINK about them and their consequences. The House of Representatives keeps passing the Keystone Pipeline even though it has a detrimental effect on our environment. Why would intelligent and thoughtful people who truly care about their constituency keep doing something that is detrimental to our environment and subsequently their constituency? What would motivate them to do this? Perks, pocket lining and private sector jobs AFTER their service in Congress.
Greed again, raises its ugly head in favor of the EGO self instead of the greater picture. ‘What’s in it for me?’ becomes their mantra for self-survival. How about, ‘What’s in it for us?’ instead? Look at the Republicans and their responses to the FACTS. They are on the ropes because their self-serving doctrines of control, domination and manipulation are on the way out while the Spirit of God moves through us all to bring about the Kingdom of God on Earth. Listen to what they say and analyze their true motivations.
Discern what is said based on the facts that you yourself research. Don’t accept opinion as fact. Evaluate whatever is said by the benchmark of ‘does it ultimately contribute to the growth and expansion of all’. If it doesn’t, then it is highly suspect at best. Be a winner and NOT a loser. Determine the course of your own life and the lives of others by living in truth and NOT spin. After all, we are all in this together. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
MEDIOCRITY
Mediocrity is the resultant state you blindly accept and live when you stop questioning the unfolding of events, circumstances, situation, occurrences and the behavior of people around you.
You were given the gift of a discerning mind and it is incumbent upon you to use it not only for your survival, but for the thriving of all of humankind.
