Ego is not an inherent endowment. An infant is born without ego. It is produced later on out of learning. Ego gradually veils the pristine innocence under different garbs. Ego does not function against something, which it considers out of proportion to cope with. In the situations like disproportional might, threatening menace, ominous duress or exceptional excellence, its absence is conspicuous by its abstention. Ego is the phenomenal potentiality of resistance, holding out as a separate entity, different from other entities and works against the principle of unity. Do You Have An Edge?
When you begin to think that you have an edge on others because you have discovered your spirituality, it's your ego that is subtly deceiving you. The ego has to have 'the edge' on everything in order to justify its own existence. It is constantly seeking ways to take command and run the whole show; even when it knows it can't. The chemical-emotional instinctive-reactive mind of the ego has one duty; self-survival at all costs. It doesn't care about anyone else but you. It will do whatever it can to convince you that your understanding of spirituality is superior to others and that you have the 'deeper' and 'more accurate' way of tapping into the Divine. The fact is that each and every one of us has this capability at all times. Some call it intuition; others call it Divine guidance and some call it good guesses. Whatever anyone calls it the fact remains that it is always there when you tune into it and no other individual has more or less of a degree of utilizing that inner connection to the entire omniverse. Make the time to be one on one with the Divine, your Higher Self or the expression of nature. Understand that being spiritual is allowing all of life to be as it is, to accept that and live in peace without reacting to its expressions. Know that being spiritual means that you proact and share love with all into your environment. Some will accept it and others will reject it. It is not your job to convince them to be spiritual. It is your job to be true to your spiritual principles in the face of adversity, distractions and the aberrant behavior of individuals who have yet to identify with their individual spiritual connection. Stay focused and be diligent in living in your spirituality. It is the awareness of such that allows you unfold your Divine purpose in Divine order and live a life of complete fulfillment. ~Dean A. The Way
When someone tells you that they have the way to eternal life tell them that's why they are talking to you now; to learn that they have always been eternal in spirit and eternity exists right now. If they leave without saying a word they have a chance at understanding this and if they don't go about your way and thank them for sharing their love with you. Ego cannot and will not see that we are eternal because its pats itself on the back every time it protects us and for keeping us safe from harm. No human being has 'the way' to the Divine or is privy to any 'secret' knowledge of how the Divine works. A person can only relay what works for them and what doesn't work. Trust in the fact that every atom in your body has existed from the beginning of time and that your spirit is from whence it came. You are eternal because you are a child of God; you were created in the image and likeness of God and reflect the Divine projection of love. Your individual reflection is clear when you maintain the health of your body, remove erroneous beliefs from your heart that deny your wealth of spirit, remove negative thoughts that deny your ongoing prosperity from your mind and allow your spirit to manifest the abundance of nature through you into your life. You experience eternity from moment to moment; be here now and know your divinity. Never allow anyone to tell you that you are anything less than a child of God by blackmailing you with the concept of sin and separation to control your 'connection' with God. Christ ended that a long time ago and many people still want to perpetuate what they 'think' he said while not paying attention to what he truly said. Be ye therefore perfect. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
Are You Correct?
What makes you feel that your interpretation of the spirit is correct? What makes me feel that mine is correct? Is it Divine wisdom or is it your ego conning you? Or me? There is an acid test to what is 'divinely revealed' to you or me. If what is revealed does not contribute to the growth and expansion of all then it is of the ego; plain and simple. The Divine has created everything and administers the Creation of nature through the implementation of Divine love in Divine order; which moves natural order to fulfill our Divine purposes. When things are obviously not working in your life it reveals that there is too much control from your ego and NOT obedience to the Spirit of God within. When the picture comes into focus the truth is revealed. Allow the spirit to guide you and direct you to the mutual fulfillment of all. With the explosion of social media and the boom of one of the biggest growth industries – personal development, in the guise of coaching, counselling, mentoring and more – has come the wildfire spread of easy to throw around sayings and quotes. The Hand Of God
Wyatt Earp once said: "The good Lord owes me an explanation for the things that have happened in my life". I think for many, over the course of history, that sentiment has passed across their lips as well. I too have let that sentiment pass across my lips many times as I have lived this life. I have watched things go a certain way with no apparent explanation as to why. Like there is a divine hand making things so. Some good, others ridiculously awful. Destiny or a guiding hand forcing one to do or experience things we had never sought. Often leaving us to attempt to explain the unexplainable.To look foolish, incompetent, irresponsible.

Honey, I've Shrunk Our God
My dear friend, the Reverend Dr. Vici Derrick of Joy Chapel in Seattle, often says, "God made man in His image; then man returned the favor." It's not a new phenomenon. About 2,500 years ago, Greek philosopher Xenophanes said pretty much the same thing: "If horses were to create gods, they'd look like horses."
Speaking of horses (or parts thereof), New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin now admits that remarks he made during his Martin Luther King address were "totally inappropriate". I think he meant "totally inane".
On Monday, Nagin told the mostly black audience gathered to commemorate the Nobel Peace Prize-winning King that God was "mad at America" and its misbehaving black people, so He sent Katrina to the Gulf Coast to destroy everything in her path. The Loud Mouth In The Balcony »
