An architect designs a building by envisioning the end result in their mind and then making a graphical representation of it in a set of plans. A model is constructed to give a 3 dimensional perspective of what it will look like. Next, the final design is made from the top down; the amount and weight of materials need to be known to design the foundation.
When the entire structure is laid out on blueprints, the plans are handed to the contractors. The contractors’ job is to construct the building from the bottom up. Concrete is laid deep in the earth to support the structure with a firm foundation. Then the building of each floor begins; one layer on top of another until the structure is complete.
From the minds of humankind the inspiration, design, construction and implementation come together to create a final structure that serves a purpose. Much the same with our lives; we need to be inspired to move in a direction and design a plan that we can create and implement a life that we desire. We need to design it from the top down and build it from the bottom up. We are in charge of the entire process by allowing the Divine to guide us every step of the way.
When we believe that it is our hard work only, we are lying to ourselves. We are NOT islands on this earth. We all need each other in order to design a life, or a building for that matter, in order to make it come alive. We interact and solicit the help of others in order to fulfill our dreams. Don’t listen to the message that the ego wants you to believe; that you did it all on your own. That is a separatist message of deception and will lead you to undoing what you have built.
Integrate what you have done with the help from others and give credit where credit is due. Be honest and forthright in your endeavors to succeed and you will receive the bounty of collective satisfaction and accomplishment. Otherwise, when the waters recede you will remain an island, cut off from humankind and wondering what happened to the sea.

What is a complex? It is an intricate or complicated association or assemblage of related things, parts or units [dictionary.com]. We all live within perceived constructs of various complexes that are interdependent on one another. Our Agricultural/Nutrimental Complex supplies the food we need to survive. The Medical/Pharmaceutical Complex supplies the medicines we are told we need to heal human disease and anomalies. The Military/Industrial Complex tells us we need to secure our safety and prevent attack on our homeland by starting wars with dissidents all over the world. Our Corporate/Governmental Complex provides the financial guidelines in which we operate within the illusion of a ‘free market’. There are more ‘complexes’ than this, but these are the main four that directly affect our survival and demand the most attention.
In the Agricultural/Nutrimental Complex foods (animal/vegetable/fruit/mineral/grains) are grown and developed through corporate and independent farming and governmental subsidies to grow ‘staple’ food items. Items that we need to survive nutritionally but items that corporations make the most money off of in the long run. Animal diseases and the way they are kept and herded to their deaths create internal conditions that cause stresses in their bodies that we ultimately ingest. Pesticides and environmental conditions affect the quality of the other foods we ingest. These conditions cause disease and the breakdown of the human body, forcing us to go to the next complex to cure ourselves.
In the Medical/Pharmaceutical Complex we all too often believe everything they tell us concerning our health. We are told that once we get a disease or condition that we need to either change our behaviors (eating and exercising) habits or take certain medicines (drugs) to help us cure our disease. All too often we are not told that our bodies are capable of healing themselves under ideal conditions and that simple substances can alter the rate of growth of a disease or nip it in the bud. Medicines ‘slow down’ the body’s healing processes and help to alleviate the psychological stresses associated with having a ‘dis-ease’. Some act directly on the disease to eliminate its growth and secure its demise without deleterious effects to our bodies. Health care is an ongoing issue and its costs are astronomical due to the liability and preciseness required for its implementation. It is something we should ALL have unfettered access to no matter how much we earn or how much we own.
In the Military/Industrial Complex we are told that we need to fear attacks and aggression from enemies we often NEVER see. Young people are shipped off to foreign lands to be maimed and killed to supply profits to the corporate puppet masters from the sale and maintenance of their war machines. It is their solution to make money AND decrease the surplus population. A win-win scenario for them and a lose-lose scenario for us. Unscrupulous and selfish war mongers create wars for their own profits and at the cost of our children’s lives all in the name of nationalism and/or patriotism. NOTHING could be further from the TRUTH!
In the Corporate/Governmental Complex we are fed the illusion that our voices can be heard and affect change. However, we can make a great deal of noise but our effect on real change is tempered by how much ‘our’ representatives are paid off by corporate interests. They are, in effect, slaves to their corporate masters who decide policy and buy their votes in Congress. This will only change when we make it punishable with jail time, heavy fines AND not allowing the privilege for them to ever run again for public office. The government has now become a business thriving on financially raping its constituency just like the corporate banks do. Every thought is ‘how much more money can we make off of our citizens’ without them pushing for change? In the hands of the government we trust the regulation of the businesses that provide our food, health and safety; when in fact, the regulations are changed regularly to allow corporations to get away with poisoning our food, addicting us to drugs and challenging our safety.
All of this lies in the selfishness and greed of unscrupulous individuals who don’t give a rat’s ass about you, your family and your dreams for a good life. They all rip away at our flesh like ravenous wolves wanting a piece of the dollar we earn. That’s why large corporations by up their competition and outsource jobs overseas. They are taking the Machiavellian approach to bring us to our knees and swear undying loyalty to their evil and selfish doctrines. We are better than this. So are they. We have now realized this and we need to help them to realize that what they are doing is NOT contributing to the growth and expansion of all. For us to live healthy we must be for health and not sickness. For us to live in peace we must live for peace and NOT war. For us to live in law and order we must make the system work for everyone; not a select few who wish to make profit from the labors of others. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

The most powerful thing about our government are the first words of the U.S. Constitution; We the People! As the first paragraph reads, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
Now, in their time, ‘We the People’ meant: ‘We the White Male Land owners who own human beings as slaves and who regard women as chattel and the natives as heathens’. In our modern day we have come a long way for ‘We the People’ to mean, ‘We, all genders, all religions, all beliefs, all races, all creeds and all people who live as citizens of this country’. Yet, even though we have made progress, there are still some who want us to regress into what our ‘forefathers’ had written DURING THEIR TIME.
Any constitution is not a static document but a dynamic one; one that needs to be interpreted by the spirit of the law and NOT the letter of the law. The Constitution of the U.S. sets a goal for this immediately in the first sentence; “in order to form a more perfect union’. Not, in order to abuse and separate others into camps of beliefs and practices that divides us. Not to treat women as property or human beings as slaves. Not to treat ANYONE that is different from us in any other way than being equal to us!
We do this by establishing justice through investigating the truth and deciding what is right and wrong; by maintaining a state of peace within our country DESPITE our differences; by providing for our common defense against any other country that wants to invade our homeland. The opening paragraph states that we should PROMOTE the general welfare of our citizens and NOT deny their right to the truth, which is one of the blessings of LIBERTY! Not just for ourselves, but for our posterity!
This document ordained and established the theme for our 200 year plus existence. We have fought and died to maintain our liberty but not just at the cost of human life, but at the cost of the truth; which is one of the blessings of LIBERTY! We have a right to the truth and not the spin of what politicians and government officials hand down because special interests are lining their pockets with perks and overrides for their obedience and agenda manifestation.
It is time the WE THE PEOPLE take back what is ours and elect only individuals who are out to represent US and NOT special financial interests who only care about making a profit for themselves at the expense of the rest of us. Always remember those three words that are the biggest and most predominant words in the U.S. Constitution; We the People. WE WANT TO BELIEVE
When you choose to listen to the internal dialogue of why you can’t do something or your aversion to someone without definitive reasons, you are buying into a belief that has not been tested, challenged or examined at its roots. Emotions layer one on top of another and eventually create trees of beliefs that are rooted in your subconscious minds.
Ever try to chop down a tree with a thick trunk? It is a great deal of work just like what it takes to remove the rooted trees of erroneous beliefs you accept as true. When you search your feelings and cannot come up with a justifiable reason as to why you can’t do something or why you don’t like someone, it is probably an erroneous belief that you have blindly accepted as true. The roots are so deep that you have to undo layers of emotions from year after year of blind acceptance; like getting to the center of the tree through its outer rings that been layered there year after year.
We sometimes blindly accept erroneous beliefs because we ‘want’ them to be real. We want their ‘reality’ to exist in our lives and sometimes we don’t even know why. It is what is comfortable to us in so many ways. In order to completely remove erroneous beliefs we must uproot the trees firmly planted in our subconscious minds.
How do we do this? We make the time every day to go within and ‘loosen the dirt’ around the base of the trunk until we can topple the tree. Trying to cut down the tree at the base still leaves the root and it will grow back again while our attention is elsewhere. We need to remove the tree AND the root in order to approach the unfolding of our subjective truth within the objective truth of the Divine.
Consistent and dedicated prayer (asking and believing the tree will be uprooted), meditation (loosening the dirt) and service (making the steps to remove the tree and its roots) afford us a practical and methodical means to accomplish the removal of erroneous beliefs. Until we make these steps we will be on automatic response to our deep-rooted beliefs that undermine the unfolding of our Divine purpose in Divine order. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
WHAT ARE YOU
TELLING YOURSELF?
What you keep telling yourself is what you believe will happen based on your external perceptions of your environment and your internal conclusions of those perceptions. Those perceptions are copies of reality and NOT reality. A copy looks, feels and ‘represents’ your reality but it is NOT your reality.
Your reality is what you do AFTER you either react to or proact from your feelings about your perceptions. In other words, what is real to you is secondary. What is truly real is your understanding that you are NOT your beliefs, reactions or proactions. What you are is greater than any ‘copy’ of what you are.
Your spirit is an original, vibrant and life expressing force that cannot and will not EVER die! It is eternal and has chosen to experience ‘mortality’ in order to further its expression of Divine love. Be the perfect creation you are and NEVER settle for a mere copy of who you are or ‘might’ be. Stand your ground by knowing that what is under your feet is the starting point to realize what’s above your head; infinite possibilities with finite conclusions that only come from living in the ‘real’ world and not the replicated one in your mind.
Just because you experience something doesn’t mean it wouldn’t have occurred without your presence. Your consciousness of its occurrence was meant to effect reactions and proactions from you that resulted in you making effective or ineffective choices on how to proceed.
The expression of Divine love is life and movement and the impression of its purpose is timelessness and stillness. Understanding just who and what you are in the grand scheme of things only comes when you ask for it, seek it and knock on the doors where it resides. Pray, meditate and serve humankind with your talents, skills and abilities in order to express your Divine purpose in Divine order. THAT is originality and NEVER a copy! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
WHAT CAME FIRST, THE
CHICKEN OR THE EGG?
Ever wonder how it all started? I’m sure you have at one time or another. The ongoing query is, “What came first, the chicken or the egg?” Scientifically it seems that the egg came first; combinations of chemicals into the building blocks of life and survival of the synergetic intricacies of living structures into its environment.
But what about the universe itself? Where did it come from? Has it always been here? Or has it come and gone over and over again? Is there an intelligent design or just random chaos? Things work in the observable universe based on the way they are supposed to work according to specific laws. Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it simply changes form from light into matter and back again; an endless cycle of life that gives life and takes it away.
But what about the universe that cannot be observed? It exists as dark matter and dark energy. Most of the universe is composed of these components yet we cannot ‘see’ them. Currently, they are theoretical constructs that make the astrophysicists’ math work out, but do they truly exist? Are they pieces of the puzzle that we have created to make everything ‘fit’ or do they, in fact, exist?
Our part in humankind is but a mere speck on the universe’s clock of time. We are a by-product of our environment and we exist within it. It has given us the necessary elements to exist within natural order. But what about Divine order? Is it an extension of natural order that we perceive as being Divine? Or is it the result of living and loving God who has literally breathed the breath of life into our beings? Do we share the Divine infinite spirit or are we just islands of clay that react to the natural order of our environments?
Some scientists believe that our soul is in fact an amalgam of synaptic energy that synergizes itself into existence as we grow and dies completely on our death. Others believe that the soul refolds into the energies of the universe upon death. What makes our soul unique is the expression of the Infinite Spirit into our physical bodies. When our physical bodies die our spirit still lives because it is a part of the universe that is not observable.
Our soul (unique combination of a spirit in a body) no longer exists and our bodies refold into the dust that they were constructed from originally. We cannot prove the unobservable with the laws of the observable; but we can utilize the laws of the unobservable to manifest our purpose in the observable. And just what are these laws?
There are many from varied teachers but let’s suffice it to say they are all based on the golden rule. Project into the universe what you want to experience in the now. Share the gifts that we have been so graciously given. Do not allow the erroneous beliefs of others and your acceptance of them to interfere with the manifestation of your Divine purpose. You have the power of choice to steer your life in the direction of actualizing your innermost dreams. Like Nike’s slogan says, “Just do it!” ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

Just as Adolf Hitler was taught to hate Jews by his father, someone, whether real or electronic, taught George Zimmerman to hate and seek glory for it. That is obviously what the message was that he received and the implementation of the death sentence he carried out was to confirm that message.
We are taught prejudice by accepting and believing what certain people have imparted to us. Since we are ‘wanting to receive love’ from our families or people that we respect, we seek their approval by accepting what they believe and burying it subconsciously if it conflicts with what we feel is true. It comes out at various stages of our lives in critical times because our egos are trying to implement self-survival at all costs.
The ego automatically implements the confirmed ‘choices’ that have worked in the past and are stored in our subconscious minds (the construct) and chemically in the reptilian part of our brain.
Zimmerman’s perceived survival was dependent on proving to himself that he was worthy of the ideals that he has accepted as true. Every fiber of his being was committed to implement what he ‘thought’ was true and correct to him; even though he knew the learned difference between right and wrong (if he hadn’t he wouldn’t have volunteered for the community watch).
Somewhere he knew that he had a license to kill and decided to prove it; for whatever warped reason he may have had at the time he chose to deny another the right to ‘live’ their life the way they saw fit.
The hoodie was NOT the problem. It might have contributed to Zimmerman’s choices as a result of his ‘criminal radar’. Ultimately, the choice to carry out this execution occurred way before it was carried out. Whether one has a propensity toward one thing or another, it is in the learning and emotional conviction that one accepts as true in their subconscious minds that ultimately ‘program’ the reactive choice.
Zimmerman was looking to justify his life and thought his purpose was to take action in the community watch program. He made the steps toward the manifestation of his conviction based on his beliefs.
We all do this every day but most of us don’t murder another individual to prove our egos right. Being kind and loving is more important than being right. Education is implemented by many different processes and when we teach objectivity and mutual respect, we will reap that end. When we de-regulate this type of teaching, we will NOT have the world we are experiencing right now. We will be approaching a state of complete heaven on earth.
People like Zimmerman will come and go but we must make the potential future killers know that they will NEVER see the light of day in freedom it they take the life of anyone. We must stand strong about this together, or we will reap what we sow and starve from the lack of proper nutrition.
It is up to us to feed each other with love, understanding and respect. The peace and joy of the Divine is with us when we love and respect one another. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
Please tell me something: What don’t you understand when Christ said, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Does it mean that you tell others that they aren’t perfect divine beings? Does it mean that you keep saying it’s alright NOT to be perfect? Do you tell yourself that you didn’t succeed because you aren’t perfect?
Well, I have news for you. The more you keep saying that you aren’t perfect the more the omniverse will respond with evidence to prove you right! The Divine at the center of your being IS perfect. You can channel that perfection in everything that you do when you stop ‘believing’ that you aren’t perfect; just as you are!
God did not make a mistake when you were created. God was on point and so should you be! Stop thinking, saying and doing things that support ANY beliefs that you are not a child of the Most High God created in divine perfection just as you are! Accept your inner divinity and let it shine forth in manifesting your Divine purpose in Divine order.
Anything else is you believing in imperfection and the reflection of that will be your experience in your life. Start projecting the perfection of Divine love and experience the reflections of health, wealth, prosperity and abundance. Be ye therefore perfect! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
WHAT DO YOU
ACCEPT AS TRUE?
We are all programmed with so many beliefs we accept as true despite the fact that we know down deep they aren’t true or that they could possibly be completely wrong. Yet, day after day we refer to these beliefs as being true because they make us feel secure and safe. They become a part of whom and what we ‘think’ we are and not whom and what we ‘feel’ we are.
Our thoughts move so fast and change so rapidly that our hearts have a difficult time catching up. Living in truth means that we need to make the time to allow our hearts to catch up to the conclusions our thoughts generate. How do we do this? We make the time each and every day to spend quiet time with the Divine Infinite Spirit to absorb the truth and clarify the important thoughts and feelings that we have experienced.
When everything else is more important than spending time with God, our lives will reflect that dynamic through confusion and worry. God created us and breathed the breath of life into our beings. When we make the Divine second fiddle in our lives, the result of that will be made manifest.
When you allow the Divine to be the top priority in your life, your life will reflect health, wealth, prosperity and abundance and create within you peace, understanding, joy and the experience of living in Divine love. Make the time for God and God will make the time for you; it’s that simple! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?
What are our beliefs? Are they simply just repeated thoughts that over time we accept as true? Are they in of and as themselves the key to our individual survival? Or are they the result of the way we look at things or the way we want them to be regardless of how they are?
Whatever any one of us believes is a result of what makes us feel comfortable and secure in knowing what underlies those beliefs. We become secure in the knowing that our beliefs are justified, valid and true. In reality, that is our individual experience ONLY and not anyone else’s. We can convince others of our experiences and if they ‘believe’ them to be true and valid, they might adopt those beliefs as well. However, those beliefs will not be ‘real’ to them unless they experience the underlying feelings that are associated with experiencing the results that crafted those beliefs.
There is no substitute for actual experience in generating feelings that underlie our beliefs. We can convince ourselves of the truth and validity of others’ beliefs but they will not become a part of whom and what we are unless we are challenged by the experiences that created them initially. Our individual perceptions coupled with our individual pre-programmed experiences create feelings that ‘react’ to situations, occurrences, circumstances, events and the behaviors of people.
If we operate solely from our egos we feel threatened by our experiences in maintaining our individual self-survival. If we operate from the Spirit of God within we learn to proact maturely by allowing our egos’ reactions to pass through us without attaching any emotions to them whatsoever. Our stake in the game moves from self-serving to all-serving. We come to the realization that we are connected with all of life and our reactions affect our environments just as much as our environments affect us.
The process of life itself is getting rid of beliefs that don’t serve our growth and expansion and keeping the beliefs that support Divine service. Moving toward fulfillment by employing methods of the Divine unfolding of our Divine purposes in Divine order while moving away from methods that undermine our development is the direction we should maintain.
It becomes paramount for us to regularly discharge erroneous beliefs that don’t serve others and ourselves. As a result, we align ourselves with Divine order in a serendipitous and synchronistic fashion that co-creates our expected desires in the flow of natural order. Releasing our attachment to our beliefs and allowing the flow of Divine order to move through us becomes automatic and we thoroughly experience the expression of health, wealth, prosperity and abundance each and every day of our lives. ~Dean A. WHAT IS A BELIEF?
A belief is defined as an opinion or conviction based on the confidence that it is the truth [dictionary.com]. It is a construct (a complex theory formed from a number of simpler elements) based on the existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof. It is contrived from your ego’s desire to protect itself at all costs; to establish a set of rules to live by to secure one’s safety and security, moving toward pleasure and moving away from pain.
Beliefs are established over the course of time in order to program your subconscious mind with the parameters and paradigms necessary to either allow your growth and expansion or reduction and regression. Living by and not removing erroneous beliefs from your subconscious mind will lead to a stifling of appropriate action and the stagnation of any motivations that lead to creating a fulfilled life.
Your beliefs are collected and collated into a belief system; which triggers emotional responses to environmental stimuli. Emotions are beliefs in action. The beliefs combine to form a complex system or whole construct that actuates fight or flight. Beliefs are learned behavior that we derive from our experience; whether external or internal.
A belief system is a set of mutually supportive beliefs [Wikipedia.com]; beliefs that work in tandem to support an experienced set of principles that allowed you to arrive at an internal conclusion about whether they were effective or not in securing pleasure or avoiding pain. When a belief is challenged the person holding firm to the belief feels threatened and either avoids the pain of the challenge or rigorously defends its veracity.
The problem is that many beliefs are true without being valid. Validity requires multiple occurrences of the same result in the manifestation of the belief. If there is any variance, then the belief can only be considered valid for those who have manifested similar results. Beliefs don’t apply to everyone’s experience; only to those who have come to similar conclusions based on similar experiences.
When people impose their beliefs or their belief system on others it is clearly negating another’s experience. It is, in effect, telling them WHAT to believe based on their interpretations and NOT on what another has experienced. This is where judgment comes into play. How can one effectively judge what another does without experiencing what they have experienced? How can one tell another what to do when they haven’t walked a mile in their shoes? What is the motivation to judge another instead of just judging their behaviors? You can judge behaviors as being appropriate or not but to judge another for adopting those behaviors will cause them to judge you. Jesus NEVER said not to judge; he said that if you choose to be judged for whom you are then judge others for whom they are; he never said not to judge another’s BEHAVIORS as a result of their beliefs!
When you seek Divine will you let go and allow the Divine to guide you and discharge any and all erroneous beliefs that lead to improper judgments and rigid opinions. You need to actively participate in the discharging of erroneous beliefs by challenging each and every belief with your experiences in order to arrive at the truth and the validity of the truth.
You are not a static ‘do-nothing’ being. You are in constant perceived motion expressing yourself dynamically into an omniverse of energy and motion. Your beliefs, judgments and opinions lead to who and what you value in life. Your values are the relative worth, merit, or importance of what you ‘believe’ about your experiences. What you value is what you use to navigate through your life. Do you value the truth? Do you seek to understand what others believe and value? Or do you adopt a rigid position based on erroneous and unchallenged beliefs the YOU determine are correct for yourself and others?
Make the time each and every day to immerse yourself in the peace, joy and understanding of the stillness and silence of the Divine. Release any and ALL erroneous beliefs that don’t contribute to the understanding, growth and expansion of yourself and others. Judge what behaviors are good or bad for you without judging others for their behaviors. You don’t know what they have experienced and it is not your job to live their lives.
In many of my writings I refer to the term ‘construct’. It seems that some don’t completely understand what the term means. Nowadays, it is very simple for anyone to go to dictionary.com or Wikipedia.org to learn the definitions of terms that aren’t used frequently in everyday conversational language.
The term ‘construct’ is to create a ‘thought form’ of an image, idea, or theory of an especially complex nature from a number of simpler elements. I have referred to the ‘ego’ many times as a ‘construct’.
In my studies of the physiological chemically based brain, it is very apparent that chemical interchange, or proper lack thereof, creates many ‘states’ of consciousness that ‘accept’ or ‘reject’, or ‘allow’ or ‘resist’ conditions in our environments. Choices are made based on the sensory inputting of these conditions in relation to whether we ‘fight’ them or run away from them (flight). These complex processes are based on our own need for self-survival.
When it comes to defending ‘me’, these complex processes are dubbed as the ‘ego’. The ego doesn’t exist as a firm definable ‘thing’, but a construct of several different ‘things’; ‘thoughts’, ‘beliefs’, expressed ‘words’, ‘actions’ and ‘behaviors’ that arise from the chemical interactions in the cortex and ventricles of the brain. If one moves to protect itself in mostly every environmental interaction it could be said that they have a strong, effective and ‘victorious’ ego. If one succumbs to environmental interactions it could be said that they have a weak, ineffective and ‘victim-centered’ ego.
However, if one ‘transcends’ the illusions of the perceived dualistic reality of hot/cold, black/white, effective/ineffective, the ego begins to change its role of complete leadership and survival at all costs. Even a ‘victim’ based ego has the inner desire to survive at all costs.
Transcending the ego’s grip on our lives begins when we listen to and allow the guidance of the Spirit of God as it speaks to our hearts. When we begin to temper the perceived control of the ego with the heartfelt desire of spiritual Oneness, we begin to balance our inner beings with the formidable force of the ‘ego’. Always remember, the ‘ego’ doesn’t really ‘exist’; it merely is a construct of chemically based interactions that seek self-survival at all costs.
Prayer tempers the perceived control of the ego by recognizing the existence and presence of the Divine. Meditation allows us to center ourselves in stillness and silence, experience the presence of the Divine and listen to Divine guidance. Service to others takes that guidance and teaches our egos that concerns of others are just as important as ours. Practice all three everyday and achieve the balance you need to fulfill your Divine purpose in Divine order. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
WHAT IS ALLOWANCE?
We hear many times over about achieving a state of allowance. But is it a static state of being or is it a dynamic process of fulfillment? Actually, it is both. Meditation is a daily process by which we close off the outer distractions in order to center our minds on our inner spirit. Through diligent daily practice we become more and more accustomed to an inner state of peace that helps us deal with and transcend the outer world of perceived chaos.
By consistently ‘dipping into the well’ of source energy, we come away with the attributes of our Creator. Diligent practice increases our feelings of fulfillment and brings us into an ongoing state of peace and actualization. It is important for us to maintain that ‘spiritual’ connection.
After years of the practice of meditation we learn how to enter that state upon command. However, many don’t even realize that they can enter that state as easily as they can react to outer circumstances. Without consistent practice many believe allowing is, in essence, tolerating the behaviors of others and circumstances that become apparent.
Allowing is NOT tolerating! It is accepting ‘what is’, aligning yourself with it and living in a state of joy regardless of what is occurring around you. It gives you an awareness to look for the good in everything no matter how bad it appears to be. It brings you into a state of appreciation of all that unfolds in Divine order. It is making a state of ‘feeling good’ a priority in your life and being consistent in maintaining that state.
When perceived problems occur we automatically ask the Divine for answers, listen to the Divine within for the answers and carry out the Divine’s instructions in our lives. It is a state of being AND a process that only comes with diligent practice and consistent maintenance through daily meditation.
Make the time to become a being that operates from allowance instead of resistance. It puts you into the flow of Divine order and leads you to the manifestation of your Divine purpose perfectly. It is truly getting ‘out of your own way’ by allowing your Higher SELF to guide you more than your lower ‘ego’ self.
Allowance of Divine order is a worthwhile and fulfilling goal that is the best for you and everyone you interact with in your life. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
WHAT IS AND
WHAT CAN BE
What has been cannot be changed. How you look at it can. What is going on now is what you are paying attention to at the moment and what demands your attention. What will come is still forming and can be altered by what you either do or don’t do now. It is up to you to make the choices that will create beauty and order or ugliness and chaos in your life.
Choose to reframe what appears to be negative into something that is necessary for you to realize the other side. Use its appearance as a motivator to visualize and feel the joy from ‘being’ on the other side of negative ‘appearances’. Remember, most of what you worry, doubt or fear about NEVER comes to fruition unless you convince yourself that it will and you continue to feel and believe it will.
Stop being your own worst enemy and become your own best friend. Treat yourself like the divine child of the Most High God that you are and all else that edifies your being will be added unto you. It’s all in how you experience the truthfulness of beauty and order instead of the illusion of ugliness and chaos.
Give thanks for the negativity as an indicator of you making the proactive choice of proceeding in a positive direction. This way, you will not resist it and you will allow it to be exactly what it is; a reminder of where you don’t want to be. Be ye therefore perfect! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
WHAT IS BELIEF?
What is a belief? Is it a conviction that something is completely understood and further challenging is not necessary? Is it flexible? Or is it rigid and cast in stone no matter what evidence is presented to the contrary? A belief is defined as an opinion or conviction based on the confidence that it is the truth [dictionary.com]. It is a construct (a complex theory formed from a number of simpler elements) based on the existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof. It is contrived from your ego’s desire to protect itself at all costs; to establish a set of rules to live by to secure one’s safety and security, moving toward pleasure and moving away from pain.
Beliefs are established over the course of time in order to program your subconscious mind with the parameters and paradigms necessary to either allow your growth and expansion or reduction and regression. Living by and not removing erroneous beliefs from your subconscious mind will lead to a stifling of appropriate action and the stagnation of any motivations that lead to creating a fulfilled life.
Your beliefs are collected and collated into a belief system; which triggers emotional responses to environmental stimuli. Emotions are beliefs in action. The beliefs combine to form a complex system or whole construct that actuates fight or flight. Beliefs are learned behavior that we derive from our experience; whether external or internal. A belief system is a set of mutually supportive beliefs [Wikipedia.com]; beliefs that work in tandem to support an experienced set of principles that allowed you to arrive at an internal conclusion about whether they were effective or not in securing pleasure or avoiding pain.
When a belief is challenged the person holing firm to the belief feels threatened and either avoids the pain of the challenge or rigorously defends its veracity. The problem is that many beliefs are true without being valid. Validity requires multiple occurrences of the same result in the manifestation of the belief. If there is any variance, then the belief can only be considered valid for those who have manifested similar results.
Beliefs don’t apply to everyone’s experience; only to those who have come to similar conclusions based on similar experiences. When people impose their beliefs or their belief system on others it is clearly negating another’s experience. It is, in effect, telling them WHAT to believe based on their interpretations and NOT on what another has experienced. This is where judgment comes into play. In fact, if you develop a discerning mind unfettered by erroneous beliefs you can judge another’s beliefs and behaviors as being worthy or not for you to practice.
